Designed with no single point of failure using stacked Cisco access switches, dual-chassis firewalls, and a dual data center architecture. Core switching is based on Cisco Catalyst 9600, with redundancy extended to all critical core devices including Ribbon voice gateways and WAN-facing switches.
Isolated network zones implemented through VLAN and VRF segmentation. A core firewall protects internal enterprise networks, while a dedicated perimeter firewall secures the guest network, ensuring a safe and seamless museum visitor experience.
Seamless interoperability across leading platforms including Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, and Microsoft Azure, using standards-based protocols to ensure flexibility, scalability, and long-term vendor independence.
Maintenance without service interruption achieved through a high-availability, dual data center design, allowing traffic continuity during upgrades, failover events, and planned maintenance activities.
Built with end-to-end redundancy across network, security, compute, and connectivity layers. Dual core, dual firewalls, redundant WAN paths, and dual data center deployment ensure continuous service availability under failure conditions.
Role-based and policy-driven access control implemented for users, devices, and applications. Secure access is enforced through network segmentation, firewall policies, and controlled entry points for both enterprise users and museum visitors.
Centralized monitoring and logging provide real-time visibility into network health, security events, and performance metrics. Proactive alerting enables faster troubleshooting, reduced MTTR, and improved operational control.
Designed for scalability and technology evolution, supporting cloud integration, additional services, and emerging digital experiences without major architectural changes or service disruption.
The project included the design, deployment, testing, and commissioning of a high-availability enterprise ICT infrastructure comprising a 10Gb fiber backbone, Cisco switching, Wi-Fi, IP telephony, security systems, AV integration, and redundant data center connectivity across the museum.
The ICT implementation was delivered by vCube Network Solutions LLC in collaboration with project stakeholders, consultants, and technology partners as part of the museum’s digital infrastructure development.
The deployment utilized enterprise-grade technologies including:
The network infrastructure connected more than 45 IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) rooms to two centralized data centers using a resilient fiber backbone.
High Availability (HA) minimizes downtime by providing redundant network paths and equipment. For museums, this ensures uninterrupted operation of security systems, visitor Wi-Fi, ticketing, AV systems, environmental monitoring, and operational technology.
Typical challenges included:
The same enterprise network architecture is suitable for:
vCube delivers:
A 10 Gigabit fiber backbone is the high-speed core network connecting data centers and distribution switches, enabling fast, reliable communication between servers, storage, wireless networks, security systems, and end users.
An Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) is a telecommunications room housing network switches and patch panels that distribute network connectivity to devices within a specific area or floor of a building.
Enterprise museum Wi-Fi is designed through predictive RF surveys, access point placement, capacity planning, roaming optimization, channel management, and security configuration to ensure seamless connectivity for visitors and staff.
ICT commissioning includes:
Redundant switches, fiber links, and data centers eliminate single points of failure, ensuring business continuity and maintaining critical services during equipment failures or maintenance.
Yes. Many enterprise networks can be modernized by reusing existing servers, fiber infrastructure, or switching equipment where appropriate, reducing costs while improving performance and scalability
The Zayed National Museum project required the integration of multiple enterprise technologies into a highly resilient infrastructure supporting a nationally significant cultural institution, with extensive testing, consultant approvals, and coordinated commissioning across numerous network locations. The museum celebrates the life and values of Sheikh Zayed and is located in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District.
